• Looks like another soggy day in town but snowing just above us. Meanwhile it'll get colder with more snow all week… G #
• It was dumping it down on the hill – couldn't see a thing though. Back in town and the rain has turned to big wet snowflakes… G #
• Sanna says the clouds have cleared and she's skiing through powder in the sunshine. Er, hang on, she can see cloud coming in again… G #

• On the La Tzoumaz lift and the sun's out. Well out-ish… Heavy snow low down though… G #
• A bit mild in town (OK it's drizzle), but snowing above. Soggy but not too bad… G #
• It's been a bit damp in town all afternoon but the snow was falling thick and fast at about 2000m, so the cast majority of the resort…. G #

Having managed to wangle off not only Christmas Day but also Boxing Day, I managed to get some impressive lie-ins and also get up the hill a bit. Admittedly we pretty much only got as far as Chez Dany on Christmas Day, but on Boxing Day we actually did some skiing.

So here are the rather dramatic views from Combatzeline…

• Heading up for a Christmas ski – it's been snowing lightly all day in town and should have been pretty heavy snow up there last night… G #
• Merry Xmas everybody! Tons of new snow but you can't see a thing so I suggest you do what I'm doing: bottle of wine in Cabane Mont Fort. N #

Just got back and despite the cloud robing us of visibility in the afternoon, we had about a three hour window when everything was amazing. And it looked like this (well better actually as the clouds completely disappeared) – a bit of an early Christmas present really…
