Laurent Vaucher the CEO of TeleVerbier has announced its COVID protection policy for the current winter, in line with may European resorts especially Austria. It come in 3 separate points:

1. Clean and Safe

TeleVerbier have obtained the ‘Clean and Safe’ label from Swiss Tourism. This means that are following the industry specific guidelines to make sure sanitisation and social distancing is followed.

2. Restriction free operations

Cableways are classified as public transport so follows the same regulations and buses and trains. This means that currently there is no lift/skier capacity restrictions but you will need to wear a mask in lifts and queues. It is not known yet if buffs or other types of face coverings are acceptable. This situations is caveated by any new measures or restrictions imposed by the governments. Let’s hope it doesn’t change. 3. Lift pass reimbursement due to COVID restrictions

There will be a pro-rata reimbursement of your pass in the case of new government-imposed isolating measures, such as a quarantine, confinement, resort closure, etc. Click here for more information

How did you end up in Verbier?
Originally came as a tourist for amazing off-piste and came back as a training venue.

Best thing you’ve ever done?
Difficult, In sport I guess, climbing Mount Aspiring, NZ (Matterhorn of the South) and all the Munros in Scotland

Relax, have fun, enjoy and be safety conscious

I have to go with four! Vallon d’Arbi, Combatseline, Chassoure-Tortin and Savoyleres

How did you end up in Verbier?

I followed the advice of my brother who did some seasons around the alps, he said Verbier was the best out of all the resorts, he was right on the money with that.

What is the best thing you ever done?

The Tour de Sez charity bike ride Guernsey to Amsterdam, very hard but also incredibly rewarding.

 

Top teaching tip?

Turning is like opening a medicine bottle – push weight through the ski and rotate foot

Favourite slope in the 4 valleys?

Piste de l’ours.

Best restaurant on the mountain according to you?

Chez Dany, amazing spot tucked away in the trees and lovely food.

Best drinks in town?

Farinet aprés ski

What is a must do if you’re in Verbier?

Hike up to Cabane Mont Fort and stay for the night.

I joined a ski instructor course here in Verbier, loved it and haven’t left.

Best thing you’ve ever done?

Giving up my life in Netherlands and move to Verbier. My life in the Netherlands was pretty awesome, but I missed something – Mountains.

After skiing you go straight to the bar in front of the W Hotel for a start and after that loads of great options.

That is without a doubt, paragliding. There are a lot of awesome view points in this ski resort that is just amazing from above and then the paragliding itself is absolutely astonishing.
