Did you take a cheeky shortcut through the off-piste at Lac des Vaux last winter and lose a ski? Well, Mike’s just found a very lonely 174 Stokli GS ski up there…
Ski in Verbier

Looks like it’s been snowing up top and it’s chilly as you like in town…

It snowed last night in Verbier. Perhaps we should hang around at Medran with our skis waiting for the lifts to open at 9…

Ski School Verbier

Mike’s update from the bottom of Mont Gele:

Ski School Verbier

Yes, just as everyone is starting to trot out their shorts and get sunburnt, the weather has turned rather iffy and it’s throwing down snow.

Now, I’m in Austria right now, but the news from Verbier is snow up top but not in the resort. But I’m not too worried as there are forecasts for as much as a meter of fresh on the glacier here in Hintertux so a soggy Verbier doesn’t worry me too much…

UPDATE…

Yes, snow is falling in Verbier. I know, ironic, eh?

ANOTHER UPDATE…

Yes, snow is settling in Verbier… And Toby’s snapped it…

OK, we didn’t need to dig out the cars and wear down jackets, but it’s been snowing in resort this morning and settling just a tad above Verbier, as this shaky picture proves…

Yup, snow is falling as I type up at  Atelas and on the Savoleyres ridge, meanwhile tonight is eighties night in the T-Bar – it’s almost like winter’s already here, with the cold weather and people dressing up like idiots again…

Anyway, do you know what tomorrow is? Cheese Day. OK, it’s actually really the Bagnes Fete de Raclette to celebrate the cows coming down off the high pasture and also celebrate the fact that our proud little valley invented raclette. I know, a great claim eh?

Essentially, however, tomorrow is a cheese and Fendant orgy.

Anyway, here are some shots of the snow as the clouds parted and duck fell…
