Sophie Bissett
A bit about Sophie:
Having grown up spending summer tucked away in the Scottish highlands and winters in Courchevel where my parents had a ski school, I feel skiing is not just a passion for me but is in my blood!
I grew up racing as a child with the Club de Sport de Courchevel and then competed nationally with the Scottish ski club.
After a break from skiing where I focused on studies and went to Edinburgh University, I couldn’t deny my roots and ended up running back to the mountains where I took up race coaching and instructing!
I have been lucky enough to have skied and taught all over the world – France, Italy, Austria, New Zealand and Australia, but Verbier is the place i decided to call home.
For me it has everything, amazing skiing both on and off piste and great atmosphere in the town, I don’t think I could have picked anywhere better to settle. So much so that instead of eternally chasing winters, I now stay here year round working as a horse riding instructor and language teacher in the summer months.
I just love living in the mountains, summer or winter there is so much to do!
