After a few blips the powers that be (the nice people at Verbinet) have got the webcams up high working, so you can see what it looks looking like up there before you drag yourself out of the house. And at sunset yesterday – when it was cloudy in town last night – it was looking stunning up there…
Ever seen those avalanche protection rucksacks? The ones that have airbags in and you can inflate if you get in an avalanche? Ever wondered how they work? Well so did Anders so he tested one out at Ski Center.

Just had an email from Jenny and Mackan – they’re up in Sweden doing Swedish Ski Instructing exams, and they’re enjoying the mighty 300m of vertical in Sälen, Sweden. That’s about the same as your average warm-up run in Lac des Vaux…
Amazingly these extreme descents aren’t quite floating their boat and they’ll both be heading back to Verbier to join the team very soon. Which is great news.

Just spent a rather pleasant morning skiing around Gentianes in the sunshine. Naturally, when it’s amazing day, you’ve got great snow and great clients you don’t stop to snap the views, but I did catch Mrs and Miss Ackner enjoying the sunshine outside the Fer a Cheval with Fin (the Border Collie). Very civilised…
Had an amazing day on the hill – woke up to a fresh few inches of snow and headed up into the cloud (after the corporate guys managed to crawl out of their beds). And just as we were all getting used to skiing without knowing where the floor was it all disappeared and enjoyed some rather impressive pockets of wind blown snow on the itinerary routes.
