Privacy policy

This explains what we do with the information you give us. Performance Verbier is a brand of Powder Extreme Sàrl, Rue de Medran 77, 1936 Verbier, Switzerland, and we are the data controller. If you have a question about any of this, write to info@performanceverbier.com.

What we collect, and why

When you send an enquiry. Your name and email address, your phone number if you give one, your dates, how many of you are skiing, the ages of any children, roughly what level you ski at, where you are staying, and anything you choose to tell us in the "anything we should know" box. We use it to answer you, to suggest the right lesson and instructor, and to arrange the lessons you book. That is all.

That last box is free text and people often use it to mention an injury, a fear of steep ground, or a medical condition. You do not have to. Tell us what you think helps your instructor teach you well, and nothing more.

When you apply to work with us. Your name, email address, whether you are able to work in Switzerland, your qualification and who awarded it, where you have taught, the languages you teach in, whatever you write in your message, and the CV you attach. A CV usually contains more than the form asks for — often a date of birth, a photograph, an address and previous employers — and we receive whatever you choose to include. We use all of it to consider your application and for nothing else.

When you simply read the site. Nothing. There is no analytics on this website, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no cookies. Our typefaces are served from our own server rather than from Google, so no record of your visit reaches them.

Where your information goes

We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing to people who have not asked for it.

• Netlify hosts this website and handles the forms. Submissions are stored in their system and emailed to our office. Netlify is based in the United States.
• Our email provider and our office, so that a person can read your enquiry and reply to it.

Switzerland does not consider the United States to provide an equivalent level of data protection by default. Transfers there rely on the safeguards in our agreement with that provider. If you would rather not use the form, call or email us instead — the details are at the bottom of every page.

Cookies, and other people's content

This website sets no cookies. There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, so there is nothing to ask your permission for and no banner to dismiss.

Two pages can show live content from elsewhere, and none of it loads until you press a button. Until you do, those providers do not know you are here.

• Lifts & snow can show the full report from Téléverbier via InfoSnow (Switzerland), which sets one cookie of its own.
• Webcams can show two cameras from Roundshot (Switzerland). Roundshot uses Google Analytics and sets several cookies, and that sends some information about your visit to Google in the United States.

The forecast on the Lifts & snow page is the one exception: it loads automatically from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (Norway, which Switzerland recognises as providing adequate protection). It sets nothing on your device, but they do see your IP address.

No other page on this site loads anything from anyone else at all.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that did not lead to a booking: 24 months, so we recognise you if you come back.
• Job applications: 12 months.
• Records of lessons you actually booked: 10 years. Swiss law requires us to keep business records for that long.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@performanceverbier.com and we will deal with it. There is no charge, and you do not need to give a reason to ask for a copy.

We do not make any decision about you automatically — a person reads every enquiry and decides what to suggest.

If you think we have handled your information badly and we have not put it right, you can raise it with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner in Bern.

Changes

If we change how any of this works, we will change this page. It was last updated in October 2026.
